Jodeen Tebay

Jodeen Tebay began dance with Velma Schrader and the Schrader Youth Ballet Company in Parkersburg, WV. Mrs. Tebay received her first scholarship from the West Virginia Dance Festival at the age of 12 to attend North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA) Summer Dance Intensive in Winston-Salem, NC. In 1990, she was the recipient of the West Virginia Governor's Award in Dance. In 1991, Tebay was invited to study and perform on tour in Budapest, Hungary with NCSA. She has studied with Duncan Noble, Keith Lee, Milton Meyer, Cynthia Riesteror, and Barbara Bashaw. In July 2003, she received her certification in Stage 1: Language of Dance®. Most recently she was awarded the Wyoming Arts Council's 2007 Performing Arts Fellowship in Dance.

For 11 years she has dedicated her passion for the art of dance through Dancers Workshop, a not-for-profit organization in Jackson, WY and performing with Contemporary Dance Wyoming. It is working with these two organizations and colleague Amelia Terrapin that Jodeen discovered a necessity to use movement as a tool to explore other areas of learning and education. She believes movement is the root of human nature and a means of questioning, problem solving, and critically thinking through experiences in their raw form.

Tebay's goal is to promote creativity, collaboration, and understanding using the whole being through movement.

AMELIA TERRAPIN AND JODEEN TEBAY HAVE OVER 30 YEARS
OF COMBINED DANCE AND TEACHING EXPERIENCE. BOTH ARE
EXPERIENCED PERFORMERS AND QUALIFIED TEACHERS.
